Man scaled scaffolding of seafront building ‘at risk of collapse’
Police were called to the Odeon building in West Street, Brighton, on Saturday, November 2, at around 11.50pm.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Pictures on social media show a man scaling an Odeon sign on the side of the building, at one point standing on top of it.
The Kingswest Centre, home to the Odeon cinema and Pryzm nightclub, was suddenly closed the weekend of October 19 due to serious structural issues.

Simon Lambor, director of Matsim, which also owns the Hippodrome in Middle Street and the former Popworld site in West Street, said engineers had found the building’s external walls were in an “unstable condition”.
He warned people not to walk near the walls facing on to King’s Road or West Street.
An Odeon spokesman said: “Our Brighton cinema is currently closed for repairs. We will be working with the landlord, other tenants and the council throughout the process.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and look forward to welcoming guests back soon.”
