British Transport Police officers investigating a report of a theft on board a train travelling between York and Durham have released a CCTV image after a bag theft.
A force spokesman said: “At about 5pm on October 23, a woman was travelling to Newcastle via train. As she went to leave the service she noticed her bag was missing and reported it to police.
“Officers believe the woman in the CCTV image may have information that could help their investigation.
“Anyone who recognises her, or has any other information, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2400132998.”
