The collision happened on the link road between junction one of the M61 and junction 15 clockwise of the M60 near Kearsley at around 5am, which was temporarily closed.

Road users were advised by National Highways to exit the M61 at junction three and follow the A666 to re-join M60 at junction 16.
All lanes were re-opened at around 6.30am.
