Diwali Isn’t Complete Without These Iconic Nostalgic Ads

Diwali remains one of the biggest festive seasons of the year and as it turns out, the season is also a big opportunity for brands to showcase their products. While big sales take on the screen space nowadays, back in the 2000s and 2010s, brands at the time took advertisements seriously. The season wasn’t just about selling products and driving sales, but also about making an impact and sharing their values. Some of these advertisements also have had a generational impact, may it be a candy brand, a tea brand or a jewellery brand.

Here are some most nostalgic and impactful ads in the last decade;

Cadbury often creates the most impactful ads, and in the last few years, one of the most memorable showed a man visiting back his neighbourhood uncle who he used to tease as a child.

Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have also been part of their fair share of festival ads. While SRK’s TVC was about sharing kindness, Deepika focused on celebrating family bonds.

Another Diwali ad by a telephone company focused on how one must burn the evil within them. The ad was released among a slew of ads that focused on self-improvement in the 2010s. Some of the other ads also focused on doing good for others, whether it was family members of friends.

Many companies also came together and produced ads focusing on similar messages in the spirit of the festival. Many of them kept the themes around spending time with parents and kids amid the nuclear family craze and the work-life balance issues.
