Driver in court after seriously injuring three people in Glasgow’s M8 crash
Ramneek Sandhu, 23, hit the bus which was stopped on Glasgow’s M8 motorway at the Kingston Bridge on June 30 2022.
Court papers state Sandhu drove without due care or attention while behind the wheel of a BMW 116.
The charge says Sandhu, of Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, drove at excessive speed and failed to maintain proper road observations.
Sandhu caused his vehicle to drift onto the adjacent carriageway.
He did not see the bus which was stopped at a red light.
Sandhu failed to stop his car and caused it to collide with the bus which had passengers inside who were fortunately unhurt.
The charge states that both vehicles were damaged and that the crash caused Sandhu’s vehicle to ignite.

Sandhu’s passengers Mohammed Sharif, Adeel Ahmed and Subhan Waris were all seriously injured as a result.
Sandhu pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the single charge of causing serious injury to the trio by careless driving.
He had initially faced a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was to stand trial today.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports by Sheriff Tom Hughes until next month when more information about the circumstances will be heard.
Sandhu was granted bail and disqualified from driving meantime.
