Glasgow buses disrupted as part of busy road closed due to ’emergency works’
Glasgow City Council has said Dumbarton Road in the West End is shut westbound from Thornwood Avenue to the Sawmill Roundabout at Broomhill Drive.
The closure has been put in place to allow emergency works to repair a burst water main.

The local authority has said the road will be closed until the work has been completed.
Due to the issue, motorists are being urged to seek an alternative route.
Meanwhile, First Bus has revealed several of its Glasgow services have been disrupted due to the problem.
The travel firm’s services 2, 3, 8, 16, and 77 will be diverted via Partick Bus Station, Dumbarton Road, Crow Road, Broomhill Drive, Thornwood roundabout, and then back onto their normal routes.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Dumbarton Road is closed westbound from Thornwood Avenue to the Sawmill Roundabout at Broomhill Drive for emergency works to repair a burst water main.
“This closure will remain in place until the repair work is complete.
“Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.”
A First Bus spokesperson said: “Due to emergency road works on Dumbarton Road Westbound services will be diverted via Partick Bus Station, Dumbarton Road, Crow road, Broomhill Drive, Thornwood roundabout, then onto normal route.”
