Opportunity for Lithium Extraction and Value Chain Development in Chile – United States Department of State
Host: U.S. Ambassador to Chile Bernadette M. Meehan
Date and Time: 11:00 am ET, Tuesday, May 14, 2024
Description: Join U.S. Ambassador to Chile Bernadette M. Meehan, Minister of Economy, Nicolas Grau, and CORFO Director of Strategic Affairs Claudio Maggi, to learn more about new opportunities in lithium extraction and value chain development in Chile.
Chile is home to half of all viable lithium reserves in the world and is the world’s second-largest lithium producer. The Government of Chile recently announced new opportunities for private sector investors in lithium exploration and exploitation. Opportunities exist to partner with existing state-owned entities or to make a completely private investment, depending on the salt flat or type of business.
Experts from the Chilean government will explain the new National Lithium Strategy, Request for Information (RFI), and tendering process for companies interested in investing in Chile’s lithium industry – from brine extraction to mining technology to value chain development.
We look forward to welcoming to this Direct Line Program webinar any U.S. firms interested in learning more about these opportunities in Chile.
