Revolution Brewing to close Logan Square brewpub in December, reports Eater Chicago
CHICAGO — The state’s largest independent craft brewery will soon be consolidating from two to one Chicago location.
Revolution Brewing will close its brewpub in Logan Square on Saturday, Dec. 14, Eater Chicago reported this weekend. The Logan Square brewpub, located at 2323 North Milwaukee Avenue, opened in February 2010.
However, Revolution’s taproom in Avondale, located at 3340 North Kedzie Avenue, will not be impacted, Eater Chicago reports. The taproom opened in 2012 as one of the first bars in the city to serve beer made on-site.
Revolution founder Josh Deth admitted to Eater Chicago that by making customers choose between the Logan Square brewpub and the Avondale taproom, the business “cannibalized its clientele.”
“Hopefully someone else will come around and want to take over (the Logan Square brewpub) and do something in this space, and then we’ll consolidate down to one location,” Deth told Eater Chicago.
