Robert Downey Jr Bans Marvel From Ever Creating His AI Replica: ‘Will Sue Future Executives On Spec’

‘Iron Man’ Robert Downey Jr., who played one of the most successful Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in recent years, believes that the studio behind the popular superhero franchise won’t deploy his AI replica ever. Speaking on the podcast “On With Kara Swisher”, the 59-year-old actor quipped that “I am not worried about them hijacking my character’s soul.” He remarked that there are but three or four guys and gals who make all the decisions in the studio; hence, “they would never do that to me.” “With me or without me,” he added. But what if they did? The actor who will return to the franchise as Dr Doom after Tony Stark’s gut-wrenching sacrifice stated that he will instruct his lawyers to “sue all future executives just on spec.” When the host of the podcast reminded that the actor would be long gone by then, Robert Downey Jr reacted, “But my law firm will still be very much active.”

Robert Downey Jr. might be famous for portraying a character who created a rogue AI, but he is not on board with the idea of using technology to bring him back after he’s gone.

The actor who started his career in Hollywood at the age of five in his father Robert Downey Sr. ‘s 1970 flick Pound turned vegan during the pandemic and later switched to a pescatarian diet owing to vitamin deficiencies. The keen environmentalist has also co-authored ‘Cool Food: Erasing Your Carbon Footprint One Bite At A Time.” The book bats for a diet that is plant-based and also reduces carbon footprint.
