RTD’s W Line to temporarily shut down in Denver this weekend
Part of the Regional Transportation District’s W Line in Denver will be replaced by buses during a Saturday shutdown, RTD officials said.
Between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, the light rail’s W Line will close from the Decatur/Federal station to the Auraria West station as crews complete an inspection of the rail bridge over the Platte River, according to an RTD news release.
RTD passengers will be able to board buses at the Decatur/Federal station’s Gate A and next to the rail platform at the Auraria West station, the news release stated.
W Line trains will operate as normal between Jefferson County Government Center/Golden station and the Decatur/Federal station, but no W Line trains will run east of the Decatur/Federal station, RTD officials said in the release.
Passengers will need to use the bus shuttle and take the E Line to travel between Auraria West Station and Union Station during Saturday’s shutdown, RTD officials said.
Scheduled service will return by 7 p.m. Saturday to the entirety of the W Line, which runs between Union Station and the Jefferson County Government Center/Golden Station.
