Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 to Include Budget-Friendly Version, Leaks Suggest

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to bring several surprises in 2025, with rumors suggesting a more budget-friendly variant could be introduced. Following the trend of its Galaxy FE (Fan Edition) devices, Samsung may diversify its foldable lineup to appeal to consumers who find the flagship Galaxy Z Flip models too expensive. The potential “Galaxy Z Flip XE” was spotted in the GSMA database, indicating that this new, affordable option could target those interested in foldable technology at a lower price point.

If the GSMA database listing is accurate, Samsung could be taking a bold step in its foldable strategy with the introduction of a “lite” or “affordable” variant. This version may feature scaled-down specs, such as a lower-tier processor, simpler materials, or fewer premium features, but would still retain the signature clamshell foldable design that has become a hallmark of the Galaxy Z Flip series.

Rumors from late November suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE might launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, with the FE model reportedly powered by the Exynos 2400e chip, which also powers the Galaxy S24 FE. This processor is expected to offer solid performance while keeping costs lower. In contrast, the flagship Galaxy Z Flip 7 is anticipated to be powered by the more advanced Exynos 2500, a chip that has yet to be officially unveiled.

Details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 remain scarce, with little insight into their specs or even confirmation of their exact names. Despite code snippets pointing to their development, there has been no official announcement regarding upgrades or features for these foldables. Speculation based on limited information suggests that these devices are still in the early stages of development, and further details are yet to be disclosed.

Meanwhile, the focus is primarily on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, set to debut in January, with reports hinting at a new Galaxy S25 Slim edition. Although the main lineup will include three models, the S25 Slim may not launch simultaneously. Recent findings from Samsung’s One UI 7 beta indicate that the Galaxy S25 Slim is not listed among the U.S. carrier-specific models, reinforcing the notion that its release could be delayed by a few months. The official unveiling of the Galaxy S25 series is expected to occur during Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 on January 22.

Notably, the absence of the Galaxy S25 Slim in the list of U.S. carrier-specific models suggests it won’t be part of the initial launch wave with One UI 7 based on Android 15. Previous rumors had indicated that the S25 Slim would debut between April and June of next year, which aligns with this new information.
