Shooting closes freeway in Wrightwood, snarling traffic
A shooting in Wrightwood and the ensuing investigation have snarled traffic on the 15 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the shooting was reported at 9:30 a.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway in the Cajón Pass, north of the 138 Freeway and south of Oak Hill Road.
It’s unclear if anyone was wounded by gunfire or possibly injured in a crash, but traffic is being diverted off the 15 Freeway, resulting in miles-long backups on and near the freeway.
The closure of southbound lanes will remain “until further notice,” according to the CHP.
