SJSU associate volleyball coach absent amidst transgender lawsuit
(KRON) — The associate head coach of the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team is currently absent, and the university is not providing further details.
San Jose State University issued a statement to KRON4 on Saturday, saying “To be clear, we are not confirming a suspension. Statement: The associate head coach of the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team is not with the team at this time, and we will not provide further information on this matter.”
This comes after SJSU player Brooke Slusser filed a lawsuit claiming that an alleged transgender teammate’s spiking ability poses a safety risk. In light of these allegations, several universities—including the University of Nevada, Boise State, Utah State, Wyoming, and Southern Utah—have canceled scheduled matches with SJSU.
