Teenage girl’s foot run over by car in York – police investigate

North Yorkshire Police is investigating the incident in Chaloners Road, Dringhouses, which happened between 6.10pm and 6.15pm on January 7.

The force said it involved a black vehicle, potentially a 4×4 car.

“At the time a teenage girl was stood on the Zebra crossing closest to the junction with Wains Grove waiting to cross the road,” said a police spokesperson.

“As the girl began to cross, she was hit by the black vehicle that ran over her foot causing a broken toe. The vehicle slowed down initially but did not stop at the scene.”

Officers are appealing for the driver of the black car and any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage or information regarding the vehicle details to contact them.
