Kate Garraway’s reveal as the Spaghetti Bolognese on Sunday’s The Masked Singer left viewers rather underwhelmed.
The GMB host, 57, left judges Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross, speechless after removing her mask, while viewers claimed they’d long guessed her ‘obvious’ identity.
Following Saturday’s cliffhanger Kate’s identity was revealed as she became the first star booted from the new series.
Laughing she told host Joel Dommett: ‘I can’t sing and I kept telling [the producers] that but they said it doesn’t matter’.
Kate appearance on the ITV show comes just days after the first anniversary of beloved husband Derek Draper’s death. The former political lobbyist Derek passed away, aged 56, on January 3, 2024, after a long battle with Covid.
She revealed she also kept her identity a secret from daughter Darcy, 18, and 15-year-old son Billy: ‘The kids don’t know, although they did catch me singing, and I said I’m doing something for charity and they said “I hope you raise a lot of money!”‘
