Zetland Hunt chooses Darlington food bank as its chosen charity this Christmas
The Hunt collected several crates of everyday essential groceries, tinned foods and toiletries for the food bank, as these are the most needed products.
Several fundraising events are held each year by the Zetland Hunt Supporters’ Club, such as The Farmers’ Ball and various quizzes and Sunday Lunch collections.
The Zetland Hunt, which dates back to 1787, rides out across County Durham and North Yorkshire.
A member of the British Hound Sport Association, the Zetland Hunt practices trail hunting, in full compliance with the Hunting Act 2004. No animal is pursued during a trail hunt.
Every year the trail hunting community raises tens of thousands of pounds for charitable causes.
In a recent six-month period 92 different charities benefited to the tune of £460,000 raised by members of BHSA-registered hunts.
